Impromptu weekends are the best .
Exactly how last weekend rolled out to be.
We left late , got stuck in horrendous traffic at the Port Dickson exit on the North South Highway .Finally reached Port Dickson at 6 pm.
Heard so much about La Playa , only to find out that it’s adjacent to where we were staying .
Walked into a picturesque restaurant , as the sun was setting . The Manager welcomed us , and got our orders. The kids were in need of some action, so we walked down to the beach in front . ( they unlocked the little door that led us to the public beach- apparently it’s locked to hinder public from constantly using the toilets )
It was great, the tide was low and plenty of damp sand to submerge their little feet in. Tiny crabs scurrying around , and quickly hiding the moment we got close .
Our food and my most awaited gin tonic arrived shortly .
Food was great and in good portions. Topped with some decadent milkshakes for the kids.
There were asian and western options . And happy hour prices for beers ,that we “parked” to continue later that night .
Kids were wet , after falling into the water earlier , hence we left early , and promised to be back later.
It is a short walk from Avillion PD. We took the beach route to La Playa at night .Took us about 10 minutes , since we had a 3 year old in tow.Lovely stroll .Noticed few families building campfires on the public beach too .Tide had come in by then , so the kids could wade in the shallow waters , during our walk .
Nights are wayyyy more busy. They have a live band at night .He sings a lot of evergreen songs , he was, hmmm , average .Otherwise , the music played is R&B, and I must add, a great selection .TV screens available for the football fans and a pool table , that was constantly occupied .Outdoor and indoor seating available , as well.Funnily no pesky mosquitoes !
This is exactly what’s needed in PD.It filled a very big void . Finally a place to chill , with great views and not hotel-pricey drinks . Staff are attentive and the owner seems to be a friendly chap too.
Apparently a kiddy pool is set to be built soon , so adults can sip on the cocktails while the kids are a comfortable distance away .And apparently , lunch will be served on weekends in the near future , as currently it only opens at 5 pm.
I will be back.It was exactly what PD needed , and it’s great that it’s beside my favorite PD accommodation too.
p/s: I much prefer it at sunset , views are amazing ,
Howdy, There’s no doubt that your blog might be having internet browser compatibility issues. Whenever I look at your web site in Safari, it looks fine however, when opening in IE, it has some overlapping issues. I merely wanted to provide you with a quick heads up! Aside from that, wonderful website.
